What is the difference between OLED/LCD?

We offer 2 types of screens for some of our devices; LCD and OLED. On many iPhones LCD screens came as standard, whilst OLED screens are available on newer, higher-end models such as the iPhone 12 series.

OLED screens have more vibrant colours, much stronger contrast, and are typically much brighter. LCD screens have a permanent backlight, so they are much easier to use than OLED in bright sunlight.

We offer both options on our iPhones where possible; we recommend our OLED screens as they look exactly the same as your current display, however they are more expensive. In light of this we we also have the option to replace your screen with an LCD screen - these screens represent a very significant cost-saving whilst retaining vibrant colours and great image clarity!

Why is there a warning message on my iPhone?

Newer Apple iPhones will show some warning messages when new parts are installed on your phone - this is nothing to worry about and does not affect the phone in any way, unfortunately it is a measure Apple have put in place to try and persuade customers to use their own expensive repair service, or replace their device entirely. Please note that this warning message should disappear after a month. Additionally, in your ‘About’ settings on your iPhone it will show the part as an ‘Unknown Part’, again this is nothing to worry about and does not affect the functionality of your phone.

What is True Tone and what happens if it is lost?

True Tone, which is on by default, uses advanced sensors to adjust the colour and intensity of your display to match the ambient light, so that images appear more natural. If your True Tone is off/lost, the display keeps colour and intensity constant, regardless of changes in the ambient light.

How long will my repair take?

We aim to complete all repairs within 24 hours, provided we have the required part(s) available. When you place your booking we will advise you of how long we expect the repair to take.

For £9.99, you can choose to have your repair proirtised with our 'Express' service! Please let us know if you want to add this to your order by contacting us - note the availability of this service is subject to when the required part(s) are available and how many other repairs we have booked in.

With some devices, we will need to order the required part(s) from one of our trusted suppliers, which usually takes 1-2 working days. We will let you know about this as soon as you have made your booking.

iPad repairs and some board-level phone repairs are sent to our offsite technician who specialises in the repair of these devices, so please allow up to 5 working days for iPad repairs.

I'm not sure what the issue is with my device, can you diagnose it?

Absolutely! If you aren't sure what the issue is with your device, or what is causing it, please get in touch with us and we are happy to perform a full diagnostic test on it for you. The cost of this is £14.99 - if we are unable to fix the issue, then there would be no charge*. If we can fix it but you decide not to go ahead with the quoted cost of the repair then this fee would be charged, If you do go ahead with the repair, then the £14.99 cost is deducted from the cost of the repair!

*If your device has been in contact with liquid, the £14.99 fee will still be charged, regardless of whether we can fix the fault.

Do I need to erase my device, or do anything before I drop it off?

We would strongly recommend backing up any data that you have on your device before dropping it off, if possible. There is no need to erase any data on your device or remove any accounts. If we need to erase your data in order to complete a repair, we will let you know beforehand and backup as much data as possible.

In order to test your device, we will request your passcode when you drop your phone in to us. There is no obligation to provide this, however without it we will not be able to test your device and therefore our warranty would only cover the part we have replaced - if you found anything else to be faulty afterwards that we were unable to check, this would not be covered.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment is accepted via Visa, Mastercard and cash. We are unable to accept cheques or any other form of payment.

What if something goes wrong once it is repaired?

We use high quality replacement parts and the most up to date repair processes.

In the unfortunate event something goes wrong, we guarantee the parts we have repaired for 6 months from the date of collection. We do not offer a guarantee on liquid damaged phones, or if the phone has since been repaired by a 3rd party.

Does your repair void the manufacturer’s warranty?

Whilst we take care to repair everything to as high a standard as possible, manufacturers would rather you go to them to repair your device at a far higher cost, or buy a new device entirely. As a result they are likely to void any warranty claim due to non-authorised repairs.

Do you fully test the device?

We test the device before and after the repair. We put it through a full diagnostic test to check over 40 individual functions in order to make sure the device is working as intended.

If we find any other issues on our tests that you have not mentioned, we will get in contact with you with a price to repair the fault(s), if possible. It is entirely your decision if you wish to go ahead with any other repairs, or if you are happy to use the device with these issues.

Will my device still be water-resistant after the repair?

When we repair your device we will securely seal the screen and/or rear cover, if these are removed from your device. Whilst this should theoretically offer the same level of protection as when your phone came out of the factory, we cannot offer any guarantees and if your device comes into contact with any liquid after the repair is completed, this would not be covered by our warranty.

My device/repair isn't listed on your website, can you still repair it?

If your device isn't on our website, this is usually because our suppliers do not regularly stock parts for this model. Please still get in touch with us using our contact form, as we may be able to source this elsewhere or place a stock request with our suppliers.

If your device is on our site, but not your particular repair, this typically is because it is a rarer issue. Please still get in contact with us, in all likelihood we will still be able to offer a price and repair your device!

How much will I pay?

All prices are displayed on the website. If we find any other faults in our testing, we will contact you with a price to fix any other issues, and you can decide if you wish to proceed.

All our prices include VAT at the current rate and there are no hidden extra charges.
